Your First Visit

What we accomplish on your first visit to our Dallas cosmetic dentistry office will really depend on why you are seeking our care. Whether you are in need of cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry or any of our other services, we will address your specific needs on your first visit.
Below are some of the things you can expect on your first visit to our Dallas cosmetic dentistry office. We will thoughtfully work with each patient individually regarding their implant, restorative, general dentistry or cosmetic dentistry needs.
- A thorough evaluation of your teeth, gums and jaw joints. This typically requires a current Full Mouth Series of Radiographs (X-rays). If you have not had one recently we will take one. If another dentist has the set, we ask you have them forwarded to us. If you would prefer us to contact your previous Dentist, we will be happy to do that for you.
- Your gum (periodontal) health will be evaluated. If it has been more than four months since your last cleaning, our hygienist will clean your teeth. If it has been more than one year, you may need to have your cleaning done in two visits. Greater than two years may require multiple visits depending upon the amount of tarter build-up you have.
Dr. Fitzgerald will do a screening examination of your jaw joints. If you have a history of TMJ problems and are still having problems, he will let you know if a more extensive evaluation is necessary.
